Two Cats, One Canvas, Eighteen Years Apart

A commission that put two cats in one frame who never actually met.

The request was unusual: two cats, one canvas, and a gap of eighteen years between the only photographs of each.

Matching two different eras of photograph

One image was a scanned print from the late nineties, soft and warm. The other was a phone photo from last year. Putting them in the same frame meant matching the light rather than the film.

Composition

We placed them at slightly different depths so the eye reads one, then the other, rather than treating it as a group photo of two animals that never met.

Now go and take the photo

Six paintings come back in about a minute, and nothing is charged until you have seen them.
